GTF announced as partner for Muc-Off 8 Enduro MTB event

Organisers of the Muc-Off 8-hour mountain bike endurance event have selected the GTF it to be its charity partner.

The event which takes place at Pippingford Park Estate in East Sussex on Sunday the 11th April 2010 will offer competitors the chance to raise funds for the GTF.  

Geoff explains: ‘The GTF is very selective about which events it aligns with and following my participation in the London Paris and also cycling the 3,500kms of the Tour de France, I believe cycling is one of those sports which brings people together and will give a platform for the Foundation to make its vision clear to people.

MANCHESTER TO HOST GTF CHARITY FOOTBALL DINNER

Geoff will return to his native Manchester to stage a sporting challenge black-tie dinner in February to launch a fundraising appeal for early phase blood cancer drugs trials at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

He will be joined by Mark Hughes and Blackburn Rovers’ Sam Allardyce who will captain the challenge quiz teams.  Comedian and TV presenter Nick Hancock will be hosting the event and football stars Gareth Southgate and newly-appointed Preston North End manager Darren Ferguson and BBC broadcaster Jonathan Pearce will also be attending.

GEOFF RALLIES CYCLISTS FOR CHARITY

Geoff is rallying cyclists to join his team for this summer’s London-Paris 2010 cycle challenge (24 – 27 June) to raise money for his Foundation.

Geoff is looking to recruit a team of 25 riders to join him for the challenge which is recognised as THE professional event for amateur riders.  The ride covers around 550km in three days, with a rest day in Paris.   Cyclists enjoy full logistical support, with rolling road closures and motorbike outriders.   It is the closest the amateur rider can get to the Tour de France experience and The L2P is now the blue riband event of cyclosportives.
