GEOFF RALLIES CYCLISTS FOR CHARITY
The event also attracts ex-cycling pros and leading sports stars. The 2009 line-up included Tour de France winner, Stephen Roche, double Olympic champion, James Cracknell; Team Sky sports manager, Scott Sunderland and Geoff’s former team-mate John Salako.
Geoff is asking his 25 charity rides to raise £3,000 which includes the £870 event cost covering accommodation for three nights, meals, ferry crossing, coach transfers, baggage forwarding and full technical support.

The 2010 event sold out in a record 20 hours when entries opened in November so Geoff is delighted to have been offered the 25 charity bond places by event organiser Sven Thiele of HotChillee events.
Geoff said: ‘With the event now fully sold out, this is the only chance for riders to join one of the world’s best cyclosportives. This is a really special event and a great opportunity to get close to experiencing the thrill of riding in the peloton.
‘We had an amazing experience last year with a team of 20 GTF riders – great cycling, the best camaraderie and amazing memories. I am indebted to the organisers for letting me get my hands on these precious 25 places.’
Double Olympic medallist, Rebecca Romero, and ex-professional rider, Magnus Backstedt, have already signed up to ride in 2010. Other star riders will be announced later this month.
Places will be available on a first-come-first-served basis and can be reserved by contacting Becky Frewing at the Geoff Thomas Foundation on 07796 681299 or by email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
