Our Fundraisers
Congratulations to Pete Moody who completed the London 10k last weekend in memory of his Dad, Arthur. Pete completed the run in 53 minutes on a very hot day. He was cheered on by his wife Colleen and 9 year old son Matthew who is pictured below. Well done Pete!!

Paul Robins completed the Edinburgh Marathon in June in a time of 4 hours 44 minutes and 28 seconds.

Conditions for Edinburgh were especially tough this year as temperatures soared to 26 degrees and with a lack of water available on the course it certainly wasn't the easiest of marathons for Paul. He has helped raise over £1000 for the GTF and we really appreciate all his help and support.
Congratulations to Ian Denham who recently completed a massive 1170 miles in 14 days cycling from Madrid to Manchester! Ian decided to raise money for the GTF after loosing his Mum to cancer a few years ago. He is also a huge football fan and a keen, but not very good cyclist! (his words not ours), but as Geoff said he must be pretty good to be able to cover that distance on a bike!
The best part of the trip for Ian, apart from coming home was the descent off the Pyrenees. The worst 'the 190 miles in France directly into a head wind'. Ian would like to say a massive thank you to all his family, friends and colleagues that have sponsored his huge fundraising effort.
You can read more about Ian's adventure on his blog http://mad2man09.blogspot.com/
Colin Moulson is an Optician from Glasgow, Scotland. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer aged 25 and this year marked the ten year anniversary of his treatment. It was also the year that he was discharged from cancer care! To celebrate this great news, Colin rode the Etape Caledonia cyclosportive in aid of GTF.

Colin says "It was by chance that I decided to raise funds for GTF. I was actually reading Geoff's book in the hospital waiting room on the day I was discharged! It has been a truly marvellous journey preparing for the ride and I am very proud of what I have achieved. I set out to raise £500 and we are now nearly at £2,000!"

Colin has written a blog during his training and preparation, which can be seen at http://gtwinner.blogspot.com
Steve Deakin is a serving member of the British Army based out in Paderborn, Germany. He and two other colleagues have been taking part in a 4000 mile Triathalon challenge clocking up the miles on the bike, treadmill and in the pool. A Charity Auction will also be taking place in Paderborn to welcome back the troops from Afghanistan. Pictures below show Steve and Brett at their local NAAFI shopping store where they helped raised funds for the GTF. We will keep you posted on the overall target raised.

Thanks Steve and keep up the fantastic work!!
GTF Supporter Peter Redman and his wife Elizabeth live in Bermuda and recently took part in Bermuda's annual walk from St George's to the Royal Dockyard. A total of 24.1 miles going from one end of the Island to the other. . ''The event encourages people to raise money for local charities but given how I have enjoyed following Geoff’s recovery, not to mention his great career at Palace (!), I felt that my wife and I could really raise some good funds for the GTF. We completed the walk in around 6 and a half hours having set ourselves a target of under 7 hours! We set our original donation target at £500 and then increased to £1,000 and at present we have raised £1,340!''

Congratulations Peter, thank you for all your support!!
